Do We Really Want Human-Like Intelligent Robots?

Robots that are just as manipulative, emotional, impulsive and stubborn as people might not be so useful for helping us to get things done in our daily life… but it seems that making a robot that is convincingly human-like is a challenge too irresistible for some people to pass up. It could even be argued that artificial intelligence is already showing some human traits; obscuring certain information on online platforms to push particular agendas, learning to lie and self-evolving to suit different situations.

What do you think? Should roboticists and AI developers try to recreate human intelligence and behaviours or should robots and computer interfaces behave in different ways?
